Its been a while since we last talked. We have been doing some things to make the time go faster while we wait for the paperwork to be finished.
One of the best things that we did was go to the Chocolate Buffet! It was at a fancy hotel called the Metropole Hanoi. We had a Chocolate buffet and high tea. The chocolate fountain was beautiful. The place was decked out in roses and thick creamy chocolate pouring out the sides and smothering my marshmallow. It was glorious! When we got back to the table high tea was there. I had peppermint tea with cream and sugar and fancy sandwiches and little bits of chocolates on the small fancy plate shelf. I loved the small tuna sandwiches and my peppermint tea. Me and Sophia pretended that we were the princesses of England and our mother was Queen Elizabeth. We had to talk with a British Accent and we were twins and very proper. We even held our pinkies up as we drank our tea. After we ate we walked in the garden. It was BEAUTIFUL! And the pool was warm. Mommy said that if we are delayed even longer we can stay at this fancy hotel for one night.
When we got back to our hotel all the moms and their babies came to our room and so did Sophia and Alex and we all brought our favourite stuffies and were in our pajamas and we watched Journey to the Center of the Earth (and it wasn’t made by a handicam). The babies laid on the floor with eachother. It was so cute because Anna and Nathaniel held hands.
Yesterday we went to the Canadian Embassy to find out when we could go home. Mommy cried. I had no idea what they were talking about, but apparently they gave us some hopeful information. We still won’t know until Thursday when we are allowed to go home. When we got back we went swimming and ate lunch on the pool deck.
At night it was so cute because I was sleeping with Nathaniel and my mom and Nathaniel reached for my hand and grabbed my finger. Now I know that he truly loves me.

Mmmmmmmm, Chocolate. The high tea looks scrumptious. I hope you enjoyed it, your majesty. What a beautiful hotel. We have chocolate buffets here too so you won’t have to miss it.
It’s nice to know that the babies get along well. You’ve made some good new friends.
I’m so happy to hear that your mom had hopeful news. I knew Nate would get to love his bath and I already knew that he loved you. I don’t think he could possibly love you as much as I do though.
I said hi to your dad. He misses you. He’s going away on Wednesday and I’ll have Mo. I’ll say hi to him for you too.
Love,
Grandma Gail

It sounds like you are finding some wonderful ways to keep busy while you wait. The tea sounds delicious! You do look like royalty! Just imagine how nice it would be to be rich enough to enjoy that kind of food every day.
How nice that all the other babies and families came over and had fun. I’m so glad that you have each other to spend time with.
Nate looks so cute and happy in his bath. He sure is growing!
I hope that Thursday will bring good news!!!
Enjoy your day.
I love you all,
Clare

Dear Petra,
What a fun adventure and imagination time at the fancy hotel. There’s nothing like chocolate to make the tongue feel pampered. Heard from your Dad but have not been able to give him a hug yet. Keep your Mom’s spirits up for all of us with lots of “we miss you”, hugs, “love you”, and kisses.
Barb left your home is sparkling condition. Mo had a snuggle pal the whole time, but I’m sure he was happy to have Dad back.
Have been consulting with Santa and he will be holding Christmas for you whenever you can make it.
Many hugs and kisses from Papa and Nana.

Petpie —
We miss you so much. But it’s been so cold here that Nana and Papa get to hold each other so we’re not too lonely.

Dear Petra,
We are so excited and happy to have the news you are home soon. Welcome home for the first time to our Nate. Do dress warmly because it is Arctic here.
I hope you will be awake enough to come to my Holiday Drop In on Sunday. It is so nice when you are the special hostess to the children who visit. Just so he does not feel left out, tell Nate that there are people his age to play with when he makes it next year.
Santa is calling me to the workshop, so must say:
Safe journey home!
Love and Hugs,
Nana
